To our Neighbors in the Ledges:
Regarding the proposal to amend the Restrictive Covenants prohibiting rentals for less than six-months, we believe such a change is a solution in search of a problem.
In support of our argument we begin with the premise that all of us are responsible adults desirous of living together peacefully as good neighbors. Two recent examples support this conclusion. First, when storm water runoff caused serious erosion on the Dunn’s property, Joy Parisien and the Bairs worked with Jim to identify and implement a shared solution. Second, when a tree on Terry and Teresa’s lot snapped and fell over onto our property, Terry immediately offered to have it removed. The project was small enough that we were able to do it ourselves. Nevertheless, we appreciate our next-door-neighbor’s instinct to live the Golden Rule. We have no doubt that Palmer and Lillian Quackenbush would have done the same had they been aware that tenant-guests in their home were being inconsiderate.
Rodney King said it best. “Why can’t we all just get along.”
Sincerely,
Robert and Vivian Armstrong
